Introduction
Kutajghan Vati/Gutika is an ayurvedic formulation used in many GIT disorders such as intestinal infection, diarrhoea, dysentery, amoebiasis, etc.

Kutajghan vati contents(Ingredients)
- Kutaja - Holarrhena Antidysenterica - Conessi bark - 4 parts
- Water for kwatha formation - 16 times
- Ativisha - Aconitum napellus/Aconitum heterophyllum - Aconite - 1 part
Method of preparation
- Wash out Kutaj properly with fresh water and cook it in 16 times water.
- Keep cooking till it remains eight times.
- Let it cool down and filter this solution using a cloth.
- Again start cooking till it becomes thick.
- Now leave it to dry in the sunlight.
- Then add that 1 part Ativisha and make Vatis(Tablet).
Dosage
Kutajghan Vati dose
2-4 tablets(1-2 grams each) three times a day with lukewarm water before or after food or as directed by your ayurvedic doctor.
Effect on tridosha
Tridoshghna: It pacifies tridoshas i.e Vata, pitta and kapha.
Also, It calms down excessive Pitta and Kapha, particularly in the digestive tract.
Side effects
No side effects have been observed till now; however, you should use it only after a doctor's prescription.
